MOSCOW, December 27 Specialists have installed antennas on Sakhalin that will track spacecraft launches from the Vostochny cosmodrome in the Amur region, the press service of the Russian Space Systems reported ( RKS).
“Specialists of JSC Special Design Bureau of the Moscow Energy Institute (OKB MPEI, part of the Russian Space Systems holding of the Roscosmos state corporation) continue to install the equipment of the Sakhalin route measuring point. The cycle of large-scale assembly of two TNA-12M antenna systems has been completed, electrical installation and comprehensive commissioning,» the statement said.
It is noted that the Sakhalin route measuring point will become part of the ground-based complex of measuring instruments, collecting and processing information at the Vostochny cosmodrome. The point will provide information support for launches of all types of spacecraft, receiving and recording telemetry information from them, the press service emphasized.
As Konstantin Emelyanov, General Director of the MPEI Design Bureau, emphasized, whose words are given in the release, the developers, through the use of unique methods and design algorithms, managed to achieve a large final effective area of antenna systems and high values of their radio technical characteristics.
«Modern technical solutions make the 12-meter antenna system the only one in its class among Russian and foreign models,» he added.
Due to the modular software created at the enterprise, the antenna can be controlled remotely from any flight control center in Russia. TNA-12M is also resistant to additional wind loads, protected from lightning and icing, and can operate in any climatic conditions.
