The first market for the “other” modernized SUV will be India, where the premiere is expected early next year.
The updated second-generation Hyundai Creta crossover debuted back in 2021; today the five-door with a Tucson-like appearance is sold in the countries of Southeast Asia and the Middle East, as well as in some Latin American markets. But in India, the SUV is just getting ready for restyling, and there the model will have its own design. Camouflaged prototypes have become increasingly spotted on Indian roads, and here is the latest footage: short videos with the modernized Creta were published on YouTube channels by users Daksh Agnihotri and Harsh Kumar.
In India, the cross will have a more brutal appearance — in the style of the fresh Hyundai Exter and Santa Fe. In particular, large “pixel” sections will appear in the running lights located on top, the main blocks of headlights and rear lights will be made rectangular, the latter will also be united by a functional strip. By the way, previous spy shots show that the Indian Creta will also get a more impressive radiator grille – like the Palisade.

The front panel will change in the cabin, the model will also receive a new digital instrument panel and multimedia system. The Indians also believe that the list of equipment for their Creta will be supplemented with all-round cameras, adaptive cruise control, auto braking and lane keeping systems.
The main technical update will most likely be the 1.5 T-GDI petrol turbo-four (160 hp) from the local restyled Kia Seltos. The range will also include the previous naturally aspirated 1.5 MPI (115 hp) and diesel 1.5 CRDi (116 hp). In India, the Hyundai Creta comes only with front-wheel drive.

The restyled crossover should make its full premiere on January 16, 2024; the model is being produced for India locally. Meanwhile, later the Creta with a brutal appearance may well reach other countries — earlier spies caught a left-hand drive version with a similar design.
