MOSCOW, December 27 Winner of the Russian championship in jumping in each discipline will receive one million rubles, the best in the team tournament — five million, according to the website of the Russian Figure Skating Federation (FFKKR).
The Russian Figure Skating Jumping Championship will take place on January 19-21 in Moscow. The tournament regulations were published on Wednesday. On the first day, January 19, official training and qualification will take place, on the second day there will be a personal tournament for singles and pairs, and on the third day there will be a tournament with the participation of two teams.
Second place winners in each discipline (500 thousand rubles each) and third places (250 thousand rubles each) will also receive prizes in the personal tournament. The losers in the team tournament will win three million rubles. There are also special prizes for the maximum points scored when performing elements in a personal tournament — 250 thousand rubles.
The tournament will feature single and pair skating athletes born in 2011 and older. The personal championship will be held according to the playoff system, the skaters will be distributed according to the tournament bracket based on the results of qualification. In each round, two athletes or two sports pairs compete against each other in performing a given set of jumping elements. Scores are given according to the International Skating Union (ISU) system. The athlete who scores the maximum amount of points advances to the next round.
In the sports pairs tournament, no more than eight duets advance from qualification to the main draw. In singles, no more than 12 athletes will qualify for the main draw.
Both singles and sports pairs will participate in the team tournament. Each team consists of two pairs, three singles, three singles and one invited athlete. Captains will be appointed from the team and the competition will take place over five rounds with different elements. The captain of each team determines the composition for each round, each participant is required to perform in the tournament, and he can take part in no more than two different rounds. Elements will be scored according to the ISU system, the team with the most points at the end of all rounds wins.
