Production of the new SUV has already begun, it will go on sale next year. The model will be offered as a rechargeable hybrid.
In November, Chery announced a new electrified line in China, for which the name Fulwin (in Chinese sounds like Fengyun) was revived. Let us remember that this name was borne by the first model of the Chery brand, which debuted in 1999, and later that car had an heir, and he is familiar to Russians – we are talking about the Amulet. As part of the presentation of the new family, they showed the conceptual four-door Fulwin A9 and the Fulwin T11 crossover. However, completely different models were sent into production first. Thus, in Chery’s homeland, pre-orders are already being accepted for the Fulwin A8 sedan, that is, a hybrid version of the Chery Arrizo 8 presented in the Russian Federation. And now the Chinese have announced the start of production of the Fulwin T9 gas-electric crossover.

In its pre-production form, the SUV was already shown to local journalists – the Chery Tiggo 9 was easily recognizable in that SUV, although the front end of the hybrid was designed differently (a photo of the prototype was published by Autohome). But the commercial Chery Fulwin T9 looks different: its headlights are devoid of sharp corners, in addition, on the “nose” there are vertical slits instead of horizontal ones.

In addition, the production T9 has an original interior – with two separate screens, while the previously presented hybrid inside repeated the Tiggo 9 almost word for word (the prototype and Tiggo 9 have a display inside). However, it is possible that both versions will go on sale: for example, Chery Fulwin A8 also has two design options.

Be that as it may, the Fulwin T9 still remained a relative of the Tiggo 9 – the cars have identical dimensions. The length of the hybrid cross is 4820 mm, width – 1930 mm, height – 1710 mm, wheelbase – 2820 mm. It is assumed that the SUV of the Fulwin line will be available with a five- or six-seater interior (the original Chery crossover is available with five or seven seats).

The manufacturer itself has not yet indicated the battery capacity, while Chinese media write that the crossover will be able to travel 100 or 160 km only on electric power (depending on the version; according to the WLTC cycle).
Full presentation of Chery Fulwin T9 will be held next year, after which the SUV will go on sale.

Meanwhile, later the hybrid may well be brought to our market, but with a different emblem and nameplates. In the Russian Federation, the cross may appear either as a model of the newly created new brand Chery Tiggo (previously the brand was announced under the name Chery NEV), or as a Jaecoo J8 PHEV (the purely gasoline J8 is a clone of the Chery Tiggo 9, the “hydrocarbon” cross of Jaecoo will launch in our country in 2024).
