A giant statue of Shakira celebrating the singer's “hips that don't lie” was unveiled in her hometown of Barranquilla, Colombia.

The statue was created by Ino Marquez. , sculptor and coordinator of the plastic arts of the District School of Arts and Folk Traditions, with the help of her students.
Posting photos of her parents William Mebarak Chadid and Nydia Ripol Torrado with a tall figure, the singer said: “I am happy to share this with my parents and especially with my mother on her birthday.”
