Samsonov was sent to the AHL after the waiver draft procedure

MOSCOW, January 1 Russian goalkeeper of the National Hockey League club ( NHL) Toronto Maple Leafs Ilya Samsonov went through the waiver draft, journalist Elliot Friedman reports on social media X.
A day earlier, Toronto put Samsonov up for the waiver draft. Within 24 hours, no NHL club claimed a goaltender. The Russian was sent to the Toronto Marlies, who play in the American Hockey League (AHL).
Samsonov moved to Toronto in July 2022. This season he took part in 15 matches, in which he won five victories. On average, the goalkeeper reflected 86.2% of shots per game with a reliability coefficient of 3.94.
