In some places, the SUV also got a new turbo engine. A full presentation of the transformed model will be held in mid-January.
The restyled “second” Hyundai Creta debuted back in 2021, today the compact crossover with a Tucson-like appearance is presented in the countries of Southeast Asia and the Middle East, and also in some Latin American markets. But in India, the updated SUV is just preparing for the start of sales, and there the Creta turned out to have a completely different design: after numerous spy photos of camouflaged prototypes, official teasers were published.

The Indian cross has a more brutal appearance – in the style of the fresh Hyundai Exter and Santa Fe. Thus, the SUV acquired a new massive radiator grille and impressive bumpers. The running lights located on top are made in the form of diode letters L, in addition, they are united by a luminous strip. The rear lights were designed in a similar way, while the rear lights of the Creta intended for other countries did not change after restyling.

If the interior of the “global” Hyundai Creta remained the same, then the interior of the Indian five-door was redrawn. A new front panel was installed inside, the touchscreen of the multimedia system is now “stuck” to the new virtual instrument panel, and the instruments no longer have a visor. The central air deflectors were moved under the multimedia screen (in the pre-reform model they were above the tablet), and another touch panel appeared below – control of the “climate” and other functions was brought to it, although a number of physical keys were left above this display. According to preliminary data, the list of equipment of the Indian restyled Creta has also been supplemented with all-round cameras, adaptive cruise control, auto braking and lane keeping systems.

As expected, the main technical update was the 1.5 T-GDI petrol turbo-four with a power of 160 hp. (the same engine is in the range of the locally upgraded Kia Seltos), the engine is combined with a seven-speed robotic gearbox with two clutches. The range also includes the previous naturally aspirated 1.5 MPI (115 hp) and diesel 1.5 CRDi (116 hp): both engines are paired with a six-speed manual transmission, the petrol engine still has a CVT, and the diesel engine has a classic six-speed automatic transmission. In India, the Hyundai Creta comes only with front-wheel drive.

Indian dealers are already accepting orders for the restyled crossover, but a full-fledged premiere This Creta will only be produced on January 16, and prices will be announced then. Let us remember that in this country the cross also has a three-row version, but it is considered a separate model with the name Alcazar: the stretched SUV will be updated later. For India, both the Creta and the Alcazar are produced locally.
Meanwhile, the Hyundai Creta with its brutal design is still expected in Brazil – the crossover will probably be modernized there during this year.
