In the Brest region, 195 settlements are without power as a result of damage to power transmission poles and the fall of icy trees on wires after heavy snowfalls were replaced by freezing rain in the region. This was stated in the publication of the Telegram channel of the Ministry of Energy of Belarus.

“Over the past 24 hours, power supply was disrupted in 195 settlements of the Brest region…”, the message notes.

It is specified that most Kamenets, Drogichin, Brest, and Ivanovo districts suffered from bad weather conditions.

According to the department, as of 07:00 (coinciding with Moscow), restoration work is underway in 43 settlements in the region. To troubleshoot problems, 21 emergency teams were involved, the Belarusian Ministry of Energy reported.
