Ukrainians fell in love with the Russian series and made the authorities afraid

MOSCOW, January 2 In Ukraine they cannot make such good series as in Russia, said First Deputy Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada and former leader of the Servant of the People party Alexander Kornienko in an interview with the Ukrinform agency.
According to him, the Russian series «The Boy's Word. Blood on the Asphalt» is especially popular among Ukrainian youth. The deputy called the problem the inability of Kyiv to do anything to counter this situation.
“»This is a huge challenge; ideologically and strategically, our country has not seen such a challenge as rebuilding completely informational and ideological work with its citizens, especially with young people,» he said.
Kornienko questioned Ukraine's ability to create an interesting series.

“I don’t remember good series for teenagers in the entire history of independence,” the politician complained.

In early December, the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine called on residents of the country to refuse to watch a certain Russian series that had gained popularity among Ukrainian teenagers. The message did not indicate a specific title, but, according to Ukrainian media, we are talking about the series “The Boy’s Word. Blood on the Asphalt.”
The premiere of the series “The Boy’s Word. Blood on the Asphalt,” directed by Zhora Kryzhovnikov, took place on November 9. The multi-part drama tells about the youth criminal gangs that flourished in the late 1980s.
