MOSCOW, January 5 .The family musical film “The Town Musicians of Bremen” became the second film to gross more than a billion rubles at the New Year's box office in Russia since January 1, according to the Unified Automated Information System (UAIS) of the Cinema Fund.
“Total fees – 1,164,159,322 rubles,” says the message published on the UAIS website.
In addition, on the day of the premiere – January 1, 2024 – the film's box office receipts amounted to 211,058,476 rubles. Previously, the competitor of “The Bremen Town Musicians” – Klim Shipenko's comedy “Slave 2” – collected more than 1 billion rubles at the box office in three days of screenings. According to the UAIS, on Thursday the revenue of “Kholop 2” has already exceeded 1.6 billion rubles.
“The Bremen Town Musicians” is a family, musical film directed by Alexei Nazhny, created by Nikita Mikhalkov's TRITE studio, with the participation of the Soyuzmultfilm studio. The heroes of the original 1969 cartoon appear on screen in a full-length film: the role of the Troubadour was played by Tikhon Zhiznevsky, the princess by Valentina Lyapin, the king by Sergei Burunov, the chieftain by Maria Aronova, and the detective by Konstantin Khabensky. Actors Irina Gorbacheva, Roman Kurtsyn, Dmitry Dyuzhev and Askar Nigamedzyanov transformed into animals using makeup.
