MOSCOW, January 5British actress Glynis Jones, Tony Award winner and Oscar nominee, died in Los Angeles at the age of 100, according to an American TV channel. CNN with reference to the actress's manager.
«Glynis Johns, the British actress best known for her role as feminist icon Mrs. Banks in the 1964 film Mary Poppins, has died. She was 100 years old,» says a publication on the channel's website.
According to the actress's manager, Jones passed away in the nursing home where she spent her last years. The cause of death has not yet been established.
Jones won a Tony Award in 1973 for her role in the musical A Little Night Music and was nominated for an Oscar for Best Supporting Actress in the film. «The Sundowners» 1960 release.
