The derailment of 14 freight cars in Transbaikalia occurred due to a collision with a neighboring train
According to the regional Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia, in the Trans-Baikal Territory there was a collision between a freight train and an empty train traveling in the opposite direction. As a result of the accident, 14 coal cars derailed, of which five overturned on their sides and nine were derailed by bogies. In addition, two sections of the locomotive of one of the trains are tilted. Traffic was stopped in both directions, which led to the delay of several passenger trains and the cancellation of one flight.
Emergency recovery work at the scene is being carried out with the participation of 90 people and 15 pieces of equipment, including 19 people and 3 pieces of equipment from Ministry of Emergency Situations. At the moment there are no casualties, and no environmental threat has been identified. The operational headquarters operates in constant readiness mode
