ST. PETERSBURG, January 10, Dmitry Edigarev. Former Russian national team player Pavel Mamaev, in a conversation with, denied information about the brawl on board the plane.
Earlier, information appeared on the Mash Telegram channel that Mamaev caused a riot on board the Moscow-Dubai plane.
“”During the acceleration of the plane, an emergency stop was made. The commander announced that the malfunction systems had activated and the flight could not take place, so everyone had to leave the board. My wife, my small child and I were sitting in the second row in business class. We immediately decided to go home , because we have a child, and this is a night flight. We decided to return home, rest and make a further decision. We asked the guys to bring us a stroller for the child, everyone reacted normally and quickly brought the stroller for us. As for the shouting and swearing, I already I haven’t sweared for three or four years. What are the screams? What’s the point? It’s good that everyone is alive. I don’t understand this news from a logical point of view, because we just asked for a stroller. They brought it to us, and we left. Why swear? What do we need? did you say that we want to fly? – said Mamaev.
“”On board any aircraft, regardless of the circumstances, you cannot do anything. What will happen to a person who disturbs order on the plane? He will be arrested. Moreover, we have a small child. We just calmly asked for a stroller, and when we got down to bus, they brought it there for us, and we went home,” he added.
Mamaev is 35 years old. His last club was Khimki near Moscow, which he left in the summer of 2022. He also played for CSKA Moscow and Torpedo, Krasnodar and Rostov. Mamaev is the champion of Russia, three-time winner of the Russian Cup and two-time winner of the country's Super Cup as part of the army club. Mamaev played 15 matches for the Russian national team. He announced his retirement in February 2023.
Mamaev, as well as Cypriot “Aris” footballer Alexander Kokorin, his younger brother Kirill and their mutual acquaintance Alexander Protasovitsky, on October 8, 2018, became participants in two conflicts in the center of Moscow. On May 8, 2019, Mamaev and Protasovitsky were sentenced to a year and five months in a general regime colony, the Kokorin brothers – to 1.5 years. Kokorin and Mamaev were released on parole in September 2019.
