TASHKENT, January 11 Seven died in an accident with a minivan and a truck on the federal highway “M-5 “Ural” in Penza region were citizens of Uzbekistan, the press service of the Uzbek Foreign Ministry reported.
Earlier, the regional traffic police reported that at about 3.00 Moscow time on the 504th kilometer of the M-5 Ural federal highway, according to preliminary data, the driver of a minivan, a man born in 1981 year of birth, while driving towards Moscow, drove into the oncoming lane and collided with a Volvo truck; as a result of an accident in the minivan, seven people were killed and two more were injured. The emergency services specified that one of the victims died, another was hospitalized in serious condition. According to preliminary data, those killed in the accident were citizens of Uzbekistan.
““Seven victims of the accident have been identified, all of them are citizens of Uzbekistan,” said a representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, commenting on the Russian side’s reports about the accident.
He clarified that at the moment, employees of the Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Kazan are contacting the relatives of the victims and taking measures to deliver the bodies to their homeland.
