Available after winning the lottery: Subaru showed a special WRX S4 STI Sport sedan♯

The circulation of a special edition of this four-door will be limited to 500 copies, all of which will be sold on the home market.

The Japanese company has been producing the WRX/Impreza WRX model since 1992 (the sedan became a separate model in 2014). The debut of the current “charged” Subaru WRX sedan took place in the United States in early autumn 2021. An option intended for the domestic market appeared later, at the end of November of the same year: this four-door was given the name WRX S4.

Now the Japanese car has several special versions, now another one has been added to this list — the WRX S4 STI Sport♯. This limited edition is based on the standard WRX S4 STI Sport R EX, which is also only available on the domestic market. Subaru announced the new product back in December last year, its official presentation took place today as part of the Tokyo Motor Show.

It is known that the circulation of the Subaru WRX S4 STI Sport♯ will be limited: the company intends to release only 500 copies, which will be sold in Japanese market. The company expects that demand will exceed supply, so customers will have to compete for the opportunity to buy a new product — the winners will be determined using a lottery, it will last from January 12 to January 28.

Visually, the Subaru WRX S4 STI Sport♯ differs due to several details. This “hot” sedan was equipped with a set of new 19-inch forged BBS wheels with a thin split-spoke pattern. They are shod with Michelin Pilot Sport 5 tires. The special version also has a slightly modified radiator grille, which still bears the red STI nameplate.

The sports sedan also received darkened badges, a black spoiler on the edge of the trunk lid and the same color exterior mirror housings and a shark fin antenna. In addition, the model was equipped with a support bar under the hood and a stiffening bar at the rear of the structure. The body color is Offshore Blue Metallic — the presented four-door was borrowed from the Levorg STI sports station wagon.There are also changes in the interior of the WRX S4 STI Sport♯: the “special” sedan received a steering wheel covered in genuine leather with silver stitching; Also on the list are new Recaro sports front seats, which are upholstered in thin suede with contrast stitching. The same material is used to trim the armrests, center console and part of the dashboard.

The “stuffing” of this sedan standard, so under the hood of the Subaru WRX S4 STI Sport♯ there was a 2.4-liter four-cylinder turbo engine familiar to the Japanese, its output is 275 hp, and the maximum torque is 375 Nm. It is paired with a non-alternative CVT.

The price of this new product is already known: winners of the lottery, who will be announced on February 1, will be offered to pay 6,237,000 yen for the sedan, which is equivalent to approximately 3.88 million rubles at the current exchange rate (or 43.2 thousand dollars).
