RYAZAN, January 13 A criminal case has been initiated against a previously convicted resident of Ryazan, who wounded his ex-lover, her friend, and a police officer who arrived at the scene with a knife, detained a man with use of firearms, reported the SUSK for the Ryazan region.
“The Moscow MSO of the city of Ryazan, the Investigative Directorate of Russia for the Ryazan region, has opened a criminal case against an unemployed, previously convicted resident of the regional center, born in 1966, for attempted murder of two persons (part 3 of article 30, paragraph “a”, part 2 of article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) and an encroachment on the life of a law enforcement officer (Article 317 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation),” the department reported in its Telegram channel.
According to investigators, on Friday evening a man broke a window glass, entered the house of his former partner and stabbed the woman several times. He also injured an acquaintance of the owner of the house and one of the police officers who arrived at the scene.
“»The illegal actions of the suspect were stopped only after the police used firearms against him. The victims and the suspect were taken to a medical facility, they are provided with the necessary assistance,» notes the Sustainable Control Committee.
As indicated by the regional Ministry of Internal Affairs, two police officers arrived on the scene after a report of a domestic conflict, they were unexpectedly attacked by a man. “Acting in accordance with the situation, one of the PPSP (police patrol service — ed.) used his service weapon. The defendant received a gunshot wound and was detained,” the police say.
It has been previously established that the use of weapons by a police officer is lawful, emphasizes the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
