Avito Auto experts analyzed data on the popularity of cars with beautiful license plates in Russia for 2022-2023 and found out that the average markup on such cars over the year decreased from 13.2% to 7.5%. At the same time, the demand for beautiful rooms increased by an average of 5.2% over the year.

According to the platform, in Russia in 2023, compared to last year, the share of demand for the following popular cars with beautiful license plates increased the most: VAZ (LADA) Granta – by 37%, VAZ (LADA) 2115 Samara – by 33%, Volkswagen Polo – by 31%, Ford Focus – by 13%. At the same time, the demand for beautiful license plates among popular cars decreased most for Niva – by 15% for Chevrolet Niva and by 12.7% for VAZ (LADA) 4×4, and for Toyota Camry – by 15% compared to last year.

For premium cars, beautiful numbers have become less attractive: for example, for the Porsche Cayenne, the demand for them has fallen by almost 2 times – by 46% compared to 2022. For the BMW 7 the reduction was 12%, for the Audi Q7 – 10%, and for the Mercedes-Benz GLS-Class – 12%.
Supply of cars with nice license plates
In 2023, there were significantly more cars with nice license plates on the platform: by 19.7% on average for all car brands. The leader in this indicator on the platform was VAZ (LADA) Granta with an increase of 39%. Among other popular cars, the largest increase in supply over the year was also observed for the VAZ (LADA) 2114 Samara – by 18% and for the VAZ (LADA) Kalina – by 16%.

The average markup for beautiful license plates last year was 7.5% for all cars on the Avito Auto platform. At the same time, beautiful numbers increased the cost of cars the most for the following models: Mercedes-Benz E-Class – by 31% compared to regular numbers, VAZ (LADA) 2115 Samara – by 23% and VAZ (LADA) 2107 – by 21%.
