A criminal case for violation of industrial safety requirements was initiated after the death of a miner at the Zapolyarnaya mine in Komi, where partial flooding occurred due to a breakthrough of groundwater, the republican investigative department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation reported.

In total, there was a shift of 60 people in the mine; three people worked in the emergency area. One of them died, the other was taken to the hospital with bruises and a fracture, another person was not injured.
