MOSCOW, January 15 Turkish football club «Istanbul Basaksehir» began a disciplinary investigation against its player Eden Kartsev due to an Israeli post on social networks.
Earlier, 23-year-old Kartsev reposted a message on the occasion of 100 days that have passed since the start of clashes in the Gaza Strip.
“»Our club has launched a disciplinary investigation against Eden Kartsev, who violated disciplinary instructions and posted messages on his personal account on social networks that contradict the national values of our country. The club requires written explanations from the player,» says a statement posted on social network X.
Dynamo Moscow announced on August 12, 2022 that it had reached an agreement in principle to transfer Kartsev to the team on loan from Maccabi (Netanya) until the end of the 2022/23 season with an exclusive buyout option. Maccabi later canceled Kartsev's lease, citing the fact that they did not receive money for the transfer within the previously established period. In January 2023, Kartseva acquired Istanbul Basaksehir.
Earlier, the Israeli football player of the Turkish club «Antalyaspor» Sagiv Yehezkel was arrested for publicly inciting hatred and enmity due to the fact that after scoring a goal he pointedly pointed to a bandage with the inscription «100 days. 7.10» with the image Star of David, implying the hundredth day of clashes in the Gaza Strip and Tel Aviv's support in the military operation. According to media reports, the club terminated the contract with him unilaterally.
