In the 2000s, capital investigators encountered a whole gang of migrants who hated Moscow residents
MK publishes the latest material prepared for us by Eric Solomonovich Kotlyar, a master of the crime genre, a famous writer , journalist, researcher. Unfortunately, on January 14, Eric Kotlyar passed away. But his most interesting studies of the Russian criminal world remain. Today is a story about how a gang of brutal murderers was caught in Moscow. Only women became victims of criminals.
Iskander Rakhmatov, Sukhrob Radzhabov, Khushnud Turokulov.
For the Moscow Criminal Investigation Department, migrant crime has long become a familiar topic. Starting from the very birth of the oligarchy in Russia, when the Russian borders opened up to crowds of semi-literate inhabitants of Asian villages, infected with medieval prejudices. Big business received cheap unskilled labor. But Russia received an aggressive and fanatical environment of visitors, among whom were people who hated the people living on our land and dreamed of establishing their usual way of life here.
Some crimes committed by migrants in Russia are reminiscent of the Middle Ages. In 2023, in Elektrostal, migrants scalped a young guy who had dyed his hair a different color, thereby insulting the Muslim religion. These are our days.
But the MUR encountered similar cases back in the early 2000s.

Then employees of the Moscow Criminal Investigation Department uncovered the wild crimes of migrants who were interrogated with malicious naivety confessed to them monstrous deeds. How do you, for example, like this statement from one of the participants in the murders of young women, uncovered in the south-west of Moscow by MUR operatives, which we will talk about today?
— Well, why did you cut off the ears of Russian girls?!< /p>
The eyes flashed furiously in response:
— We hate them! They give birth to infidels.
Then, after sitting in a cell in the temporary detention center, the one who said this realized that he had said something stupid, and already at the second interrogation he stated:
—We killed them to take away the money. They tortured those who did not want to give it up.
— That's how it is? Why then did they cut off the ears and shave the heads of their fellow countrymen? They are not “infidels.”
—They are worse than infidels. We came here and forgot the commandments of Allah. They began to imitate the life of the locals, and some of them even got married here and changed their last names.
— So, did you come to Russia to kill, maim and rob here?
— Why say that? Allah created the Earth for all people. The earth is common to all people. You can’t say that, where you came, where you didn’t…
One of the girls they mutilated, thank God, remained alive. As she told the operatives, she had to pretend to be dead. But not everyone is so lucky!
In those years, the operatives carried out their task harshly when faced with an unusual case of rampant religious fanaticism. But it is not part of their official duties to give the events under investigation a socio-political assessment other than a legal one. Moreover, Russia has always maintained diplomatic and friendly relations with many neighbors. Although between words the operatives asked a fair question: why do we need foreign crime if there is too much of our own?
At the end of 2010 and the beginning of 2011, the operational authorities of the capital began to receive alarming information about the serial murders of young women and girls. Each murder was committed with inexplicable cruelty. Numerous stab wounds on the bodies of the victims raised questions among forensic experts and investigators. It seemed that the killers subjected their victims to excruciating torture before the final execution. For what? After all, they only took the unfortunates’ phones, wallets with change, bags… The usual loot from street robbery. The corpses of young women were found mainly in the southwest of Moscow.
The doctors of the 64th city hospital on Vavilova Street said among themselves that they had turned into a real front-line brigade. Patients with multiple stab wounds significantly outnumbered patients with conventional diagnoses.
Employees of the criminal investigation department of the South-Western Administrative District Alexander Melnichenko, Maxim Vanin, Ilya Popov spent the day in anxious anticipation of the next message about the found female corpse. And the warning signs were not long in coming. Thus, in a new report, a description of an attack on a girl on Architect Vlasov Street near house 22 appeared. The location of the attack was not included in the video surveillance zone.
In serious condition, the victim was sent to Hospital No. 64, where doctors determined a deep stab wound to the chest. On Garibaldi Street, operatives found a woman’s bag with a passport in the name of Svetlana Bokova. Two mobile phones and a Sberbank salary card were stolen from the bag. The victim's personal belongings were found at the scene. The girl worked as a nurse in a private clinic; she had with her a nurse's overalls, underwear, a bottle of perfume, a lighter, and a pack of cigarettes. The robbers casually shook all this out of the bag of a girl returning from duty.
A day later, the operational unit received a telephone message: Svetlana Bokova died from her wounds.
The MUR came into action. The head of the department, Anton Vinogradov, an experienced operative and well acquainted with the specifics of the district, was sent from the department for solving murders to the South-Western District. At the first meeting, the task force decided that for them, solving the murders of girls and young women is a matter of male honor and they will take all measures to ensure that the killers are held accountable for their vile crimes. Already at the first analysis of the handwriting of these crimes, investigators noted: not a single victim was subjected to violence, which is usually typical for most of today's street attacks on girls. Violence against a random victim is usually accompanied by robbery. And it is migrant workers who most often commit such vile deeds in the city.
But in this case, the bandits deviated from the rule. Street robberies were accompanied by savage murders with numerous stab wounds. The victims were disfigured and their ears were cut off. But what motives did the unknown criminals have for such atrocities?
Meanwhile, the bloody events in the south of Moscow continued.
Soon a message was received that residents had discovered the body of a woman on Babushkina Street near the boiler room. The murdered person was 35-year-old native of Dagestan Indira Kamilova. Experts described seventeen stab wounds to the body, nine of them in the neck, the rest in the chest, kidney and anywhere else. It was as if they were beating with knives without looking, with frenzy.
Gold earrings and a pendant, three hundred rubles and a Sony Ericsson phone were lying around at the scene of the murder…
The series of tragic events was added to one more murder of a woman.
A successful businesswoman, the owner of a dairy company, died. She died a painful death. Her body was discovered by a garbage truck driver while he was unloading the truck at a landfill. The corpse fell out of the truck and was half freed from the plastic bag in which it had been stuffed. The frightened driver immediately reported the terrible discovery to the police. An examination of the body of the deceased showed traces of cruel torture to which the unfortunate woman was subjected before execution. Eight stab wounds to the body, at least ten punctures in the neck and mutilated ears…
Subsequently, in the process of investigative and operational actions, the deceased was identified as 43-year-old Olga Medvedeva.
The search for criminals was made difficult by inaccurate descriptions of them by rare witnesses. Some of them claimed that the attackers looked like Caucasians, others saw people of Asian appearance. In addition, the operatives came to the attention of victims of other crimes committed at that time in the district, and they had to spend a lot of time to weed out the “unnecessary” ones for the investigation of the incident. This is how a photo-composite portrait of one of the alleged killers appeared, similar to a Caucasian, compiled according to eyewitness testimony. But, as it turned out later, it had little in common with the actual appearance of the real criminals.
It was necessary to examine in detail all statements about attacks committed by Caucasians or representatives of Asian republics. The only thing that has been established for certain is that for some reason all the murders of women were carried out by mysterious invisible people on the territory of the South-Western District.
The operatives were forced to carry out colossal work in a short time. It was impossible to allow maniacal and inexplicable reprisals against women to continue in Moscow.
As a result of persistent operational investigative measures, an elderly woman of Asian origin came under investigation suspicion.
We talked with her for a long time. The operatives understood perfectly well that she would help them if only she believed in the safety of her testimony for those about whom the operative was asking her. Therefore, Vinogradov and Melnichenko explained to her that this was just a harmless story with some unknown people holding the phones they found on the street. But if these phones are not returned to the owners, the case may take a criminal turn. According to police, the person who has the phones is an acquaintance of hers. The operatives asked questions quickly, without giving her time to think about the answers. And, to their joy, the woman admitted that one of these people was her nephew! During this conversation, her relative was present, who said: it looks like this is our Sukhrob! Then they both came to their senses and categorically refused to give his address and telephone number. But for the task force this no longer mattered.
They kept the elderly lady under control the entire time until they found out the man’s address and mobile phone number.
It turned out to be someone Sukhrob Radzhabov, not registered anywhere, working as a loader at the Kazansky railway station, renting an apartment on Podbelsky Street.
When the operatives knocked on his door and called his name — Sukhrob Radzhabov? — at first they were hesitantly answered: yes! And then there was deathly silence. Apparently, the man behind the door realized that the hour of reckoning had come and decided to hide. A trick typical of naive, illiterate subjects.
“It’s your business,” said Vinogradov, “but keep in mind that we won’t go anywhere.” One way or another, maybe even with the help of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, but the meeting with you will definitely take place. We know everything about you, and it’s better if you get smart and don’t force us to break down the door. Think carefully!
The Murovites prepared for a long wait. One of the operatives went to the store; the food was laid out on the windowsill in the entrance, canned food was opened and bread was sliced… Thus began the blockade of that very apartment; which led to the end of the gang, before whose deeds even the murders of Ionesyan, which went down in the history of the MUR under the symbol “Mosgaz”, pale in comparison.
Time dragged on for a long time. The operatives held the ambush firmly. Residents from neighboring apartments, alarmed by the presence of four strong guys on the site, who had laid out snacks on the window and sat on the steps, began calling the local police department and the local police officer. The crews and the local police officer came several times. The operatives told their colleagues a categorical refusal:
— Don’t even think about it, we won’t leave here anywhere until he opens the door. At least report to the general!
The blockade lasted about ten hours. The Murovites were adamant: we will hold out until the end.
The door opened only at two in the morning, when, tired of the persistence of the “uninvited guests,” Radjabov finally realized: it was pointless to resist further.
The operatives heard from Radzhabov that he came to Moscow from Uzbekistan. Works as a loader at the Kazansky railway station. Together with his acquaintances Tarakulov and Ganiev, he went to the Novye Cheryomushki metro station, where they stopped the girl in the courtyard and stabbed her with a knife in order to take possession of her bag. Then they went to the Shchelkovskaya station, where they killed another woman… For his “work,” Radjabov received two Nokia and Samsung phones from the bags of the murdered women.
The operatives convinced Radzhabov that it was better for him to cooperate with the investigation. At the request of Vinogradov and Melnichenko, he called his friends Tarakulov and Ganiev and made an appointment for them the next day at the Kazan station.
But the detectives were disappointed. The accomplices called by Radjabov never showed up at the shooting. Probably, their animal instinct told them something was wrong.
This time, the operatives forced Radjabov to memorize the text they had prepared. And it worked. At the Kazansky station, a meeting took place between Tarkulov and Ganiev, but not with Radzhabov, but with… Sobrov members. The detained bandits spoke surprisingly openly about themselves and their adventures.
Khushnob Tarakulov, Tajik, but registered at his place of residence in Uzbekistan. Carpenter by profession. Arrived in Moscow in 2007. Lived here illegally. When he was detained, Tarakulov did not have any documents. He worked as a driver near the Prince Hotel on Sevastopolsky Boulevard. I rented an apartment with another tenant named Aref.
Tarakulov, according to him, was introduced to Ganiev and several other people, namely Radjabov, Rakhmatov, Dzhuraev, Rizoev, a friend, a taxi driver at the Kazan station, a certain Fedor. He recommended them to Tarakulov as people who could help with registration in Moscow. Tarakulov’s sister allegedly died, he needed money, and Ganiev lent him 50 thousand rubles. Two weeks later, Ganiev called and said that Tarakulov would have to work off his debt as a car driver. At Ganiev’s request, he gave him and Radjabov a lift to the Novye Cheryomushki metro station. There, new acquaintances killed the girl, and Ganiev forced Tarakulov to strike the dead body several times with a knife…
This was Tarakulov’s first testimony. During the investigative process, a lot became clear about him!
The Murovites learned no less interesting things from Ganiev. Abdugani Ganiev, official residence in Samarkand. He lived in Moscow without documents (unless, of course, you count a fake passport). Secondary specialized education. In Samarkand, he studied at a paid college of the National Security Service and received a specialty as a communications operator.
In Moscow since 2008. He lived in Podolsk, where he earned money as a driver at the local market. Delivered fruits, vegetables and other goods to retail outlets.
During the intelligence conversation, Ganiev alerted the operatives with his unexpected revelation that in Samarkand he provided himself with attacks on visiting tourists and students visiting local markets. The operatives regarded his calmness when describing the robberies he committed as the insolence characteristic of professional criminals.
At the meeting, the detectives came to the conclusion: the gang leaders had fallen into the hands of the task force. And this was confirmed by further investigation.
Ganiev and Tarakulov did not particularly hide the names of the remaining members of the gang of murderers they organized. When they began to confess to the murders of women in the capital, the Murovites also became aware of the rest of the “heroes” of the bloody epic.
These people were detained with the force support of SOBR. The operations took place mainly in Podolsk, where Ganiev was renting a house.
Among those detained was a certain Rakhmatov, a well-trained boxer capable of knocking down a girl or woman with one professional blow.
Iskander Rakhmatov, aka Rustam Tashmatov, also known under the nickname Sasha, was twice brought to administrative responsibility for illegal business activities. Received secondary education in Uzbekistan. I was involved in boxing. In Russia since 2002. In 2009, he returned to Uzbekistan to change his passport. That same year he returned to Russia and lived here forever. In Podolsk he has a wife and child, who, due to lack of documents, was not registered at birth.
The main occupation is private transportation, including in markets. He was brought to administrative responsibility 6 times for violating the rules. According to Rakhmatov himself, he was deprived of his driving license for two years. And he was forced to purchase a passport and license under the name Tashmatov.
Already under this “pseudonym” he was brought to administrative responsibility for violating driving rules as many as 14 times!
During a search in his apartment Found a stash of drugs. He probably didn’t hesitate to earn extra money in this way, which is now generally accepted by many migrant workers. He told the operatives about one episode where he looks like an innocent lamb.
On January 11, 2011, he was driving four of his acquaintances in Uzbekistan along Leninsky Prospekt. On the pavement they saw a girl voting and ordered Rakhmatov to stop the car. All four got out of the car, and the girl asked to be taken to Tekstilshchiki or Kuzminki. When she got in, his friends quickly returned to the car with her. And they ordered the girl not to open her mouth under threat of reprisals. On the way, they ordered Rakhmatov to stop in a place unfamiliar to him and got out of the car, forcibly pushing the girl out. He immediately left, telling his friends that he would not tell anyone anything…
That's how timid he is. Only when, during the investigation, his friends began to give shocking testimony against him, the angelic mask instantly fell off, revealing the predatory grin of the killer.
Rizoev and Juraev, detained in Podolsk, turned out to be cousins. Akmal Rizoev was born in Samarkand, worked as a cook in the Bistro cafe with his mother, who was also a dishwasher there.
He knows that his cousin Dilshod Juraev robbed and killed people in Moscow. One day, Juraev returned late at night with his jacket spattered with blood, and he explained to Rizoev that he had killed the girl. Rizoev saw a lot of money from Juraev, but Juraev did not tell him where it came from.
Dilshod Juraev was listed at his place of birth in Samarkand and was not registered anywhere either in Moscow or in the Moscow region. He lived illegally with his father in Podolsk. At one time he worked as a seller of vegetables and fruits. At the time of his arrest, he was unemployed.
At the very first interrogation, he confirmed his connection with Abdugani Ganiev (“Gani,” as he called him).
This concludes the main work of the operational team. The gang was stopped, the operatives kept the man's word. Investigative and procedural actions began with the killers visiting crime scenes and reproducing attacks on female victims. The bloody group has six targeted murders and one attempted murder of the girl who was able to pretend to be dead.
All the phones of the dead were sold at the Kazansky railway station. The operatives established the point where these phones were bought from them.
When asked why, at the scene of Kamilova’s murder, the bandits threw away gold earrings, a pendant, money, an expensive mobile phone, the arrested revealed an amazing thing to the operatives. It turns out that a mistake occurred, they killed a Muslim woman without understanding it, taking the loot in this case is a big sin…
So what happens? It turns out that killing on religious grounds is not a sin? The Islamic clergy in secular Russia is known to deny the dogmas of fundamental Islam! And even more so, he does not share medieval prejudices calling for “bloody revenge on the infidels,” for jihad. It turns out that the detectives encountered a gang charged with the Wahhabi spirit? The gang that declared jihad against Russian women.
However, religious motives may not be the most important thing in this wild matter. When the investigation established all the facts of the crimes, Tarakulov had nothing to lose. And he admitted to the investigator that if they had not been caught, they would have continued to kill and kill! Feeling the taste of easy money, they wanted to start killing on a tip against wealthy townspeople and their apartments.
They carried out one such crime along with street massacres of women. We are talking about businesswoman Medvedeva. North Caucasian acquaintances pointed it out to her.
The gang operated, most likely under the direction of the spotters.
They tracked Medvedeva near her house, studied the habits of the future victim and movement around the city. They attacked me at the entrance, took me out and put me in my car. When the woman fell into their hands, she was subjected to excruciating torture and for the first time they “earned” a lot of money from this business. The mutilated body of the businesswoman was thrown into a trash container and covered with leaves…
In 2010, investigators suspected her closest relative in this murder. But the truth was revealed after the liquidation of the gang of “newcomers,” as they are usually called in official documents. During the investigation, they openly talked about the details of this crime. Probably, he liked to easily earn good money, without really caring about the torment caused to the victims. Such a profitable business can easily be covered up with religious prejudices about the “insignificant essence of the infidels.”
The operas' track record includes a crime that was prevented. There is one grocery store in the southwest where a young lady always came to do her shopping in an ivory Porsche. During the investigation, the bandits told how they prepared her murder. We trained in attack techniques on a car. That girl still does not suspect that her life was hanging by a thread and she owes her salvation to the employees of the Moscow Criminal Investigation Department.
However, this is not the first case in the history of MUR. When in the nineties, in the capital, a hunter for expensive fur coats, a visitor from Ukraine, who received the operational nickname Chaika, was killing women in the capital, the Murovites, under the leadership of their boss (today’s head of the GUUR of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation, Viktor Golovanov), detained the killer at the very entrance of the house where his victim was entering. They detained him at the moment when the killer’s hand was already raised for reprisal and was intercepted by operatives. The lady entered the house without hearing or noticing anything. And she is still in the dark about the fact that she was one step away from death…
By the way, this incident also happened on Vavilov Street. Some South-Western district is especially dangerous for women.
The entire group of exposed murderers in Moscow lived illegally. Everyone has fake passports. The real licenses of each were confiscated by the police, and instead they had fakes.
Ganiev and Tarakulov were sentenced to life imprisonment, everyone else — from 17 to 19 years of maximum security.
Experience doesn't teach anything. Murovites still, sparing no effort, fulfill their duty, and visiting guests continue to commit serious crimes in the open spaces of Moscow. The difference between what we told our readers about and what is happening these days is that there are now many more of these same guests with Eastern psychology and without any legal documents. Only the staff of the criminal investigation department in the main city of Russia has increased slightly…
