His role was played by a concept with the addition of Switchgear to the name. This “green” truck was equipped with 37-inch off-road tires.
The American brand Ford began producing F-Series pickups back in 1948, and the F-150 version of the model appeared in 1975. The full-size truck of the current fourteenth generation was presented in 2020, and in September 2023 it was updated: a restyled version was presented at the Detroit Auto Show. The current pickup truck also has an all-electric version, which received its own name — F-150 Lightning; this variant debuted in May 2021.

Today, the “regular” Ford F-150 has a top-end variant with the addition of Raptor to the name, but the all-green truck does not have such an option. However, this may change in the future: the manufacturer presented the Ford F-150 Lightning Switchgear concept, which could subsequently form the basis of a “charged” pickup truck with all-electric “stuffing.”
The show car was created by Ford Performance and RTR Vehicles and features a body made from carbon composite materials. The model was equipped with a body kit around the perimeter of the body, including massive linings on the wheel arches. In addition, this concept pickup truck received a differently designed lower part of the front bumper with a volumetric air intake.
Other front and rear bumpers helped improve the approach and departure angles of the electric pickup truck. The Ford F-150 Lightning Switchgear has a large spoiler on the rear of the cabin, and the concept also features 18-inch wheels that are shod with 37-inch Nitto Ridge Grappler off-road tires. The ground clearance of this pickup truck has increased to 343 mm in the front and 279 mm in the rear.

The interior of the show car with the Switchgear console was equipped with five Recaro Sportster ORV seats with six-point seat belts. The model also received a front panel, which was designed in accordance with the style of the concept. In addition, the model has a prominent handbrake lever and an impressive horizontal crossbar between the front and rear rows of seats.

The concept pickup features Fox 3.0 shocks front and rear, a custom double wishbone suspension at the front and an independent multi-link with anti-roll bar at the rear.
Despite all the changes, the technology of the Ford F-150 Lightning Switchgear concept is standard. This truck is equipped with a twin-engine power plant, the total output of which is 588 hp and the maximum torque is 1050 Nm. The system also includes a traction battery with a capacity of 131 kWh. A “regular” pickup truck with such “stuffing” takes less than four seconds to accelerate from a standstill to almost “hundreds” (up to 96 km/h).

It is known that the public premiere of the show car will take place next week, January 25, as part of the King of the Hammers race. Apparently, the concept with the Switchgear prefix will not make it to the series, but in the future the Ford F-150 Lightning may still have a new top-end version with improved technical characteristics.
