The SUV's appearance was corrected and its equipment was improved. The manufacturer has not yet spoken about the equipment — most likely, its reforms have not affected it.
The compact crossover Hyundai Bayon based on the i20 hatch debuted in 2021. Initially, the SUV was announced as a model created specifically for Europe, although it later appeared in other regions (for example, the five-door is available in Egypt and Kazakhstan). According to the company itself, Bayon finished last year in the “plus” in the Old World, but it did not become a sales hit: 27,793 units were sold (+36%). For comparison, the Toyota Yaris Cross and Peugeot 2008 sold over 15,000 copies each there in October alone. The planned restyling is unlikely to bring the “Korean” closer to European bestsellers, but it can still attract new customers.
It was — it was
The front part of the five-door was redesigned: Hyundai Bayon acquired a different bumper and radiator grille, and an additional luminous line appeared between the LED strips of running lights — like other recent models of the brand (among them Kona, Accent/Verna and Sonata). The rear bumper was also replaced, plus the cross received new design wheels (16- or 17-inch). Finally, the palette of body colors has been expanded.

The interior is generally the same, except that instead of conventional light bulbs, LED ones were installed inside. Already in the base, Hyundai Bayon now has a multimedia system with a 10.25-inch diagonal touchscreen (previously there was an 8-inch screen), in addition, the navigator maps can be updated over the air. As before, a virtual tidy (the same 10.25 inches) is available for an additional fee. Depending on the configuration, the list of equipment also includes wireless charging for a smartphone, a Bose audio system, improved adaptive cruise control, auto braking systems, lane keeping, and blind spot monitoring.

There is not a word about technology in the release, while the “old-world” media believe that the reforms did not affect it. The pre-restyling Hyundai Bayon is available to Europeans with a gasoline four-cylinder naturally aspirated 1.2 MPI (84 hp) and a turbocharged 1.0 T-GDI (100 or 120 hp), a cross with a liter engine can also be a “mild hybrid” (for the younger version 48 -volt “add-on weight” is an option, the older one has it initially). Boxes (depending on the version) — six-speed manual, seven-speed “robot” with two clutches or 6iMT (clutch pedal works “by wire”). In any case, the drive is only front-wheel drive.
The prices of the updated Hyundai Bayon have not yet been announced, as well as sales start dates. The previous SUV in Germany, for example, now costs from 21,115 euros.
Note that Russian dealers have long organized “parallel” deliveries of Bayon, so the restyled cross will probably reach us too.< /p>
