Mr Baldwin, who was both a producer and star of the film, also said he was told there were no live rounds in it. on the set. He claimed that he did not pull the trigger when the gun fired.

This conclusion was reached after extensive testing by a ballistics testing company in Arizona.
«Although Alec Baldwin has repeatedly denied pulling the trigger, given the test results, findings and observations presented here, the trigger must have been pulled or depressed sufficiently to release the fully cocked or retracted hammer of the revolver for evidence,» said Lucien Haag from the Medical Examiner's Office, who conducted the analysis.
The original prosecution team ruled that Mr. Baldwin acted with «willful neglect» in handling the weapon.
«The job is not to be a firearms expert.»
They argued that Mr. Baldwin, as the actor and producer Baldwin, who was originally charged last January, was responsible for ensuring that the gun did not contain live ammunition.
Baldwin's legal team disputed this, and they were supported by the actors' union SAG-AFTRA, which they disagreed with, stating that «An actor's job is not to be a firearms or weapons expert.»
Hannah Gutierrez-Reed, the film's gunsmith, who was in charge of the guns on set site, has already pleaded not guilty to manslaughter, and her trial is scheduled to begin next month.
Dave Halls, the film's first assistant director, who was in charge of safety on the set, has pleaded not guilty to misdemeanor charges.
Ms. Hutchins' parents sued Baldwin and the film's producers. Their lawyer, Gloria Allred, said: «They continue to seek the truth in our civil lawsuit on their behalf, and they would also like to see accountability in the criminal justice system.»
Rust resumed filming in April last year. year in Montana, using replica guns and a new team.
Mr Baldwin said the tragedy had hit his career. “I got laid off from another job yesterday,” he told CNN in an August 2022 interview. It was one of five roles he lost after the Rust shooting.
The actor put his five-bedroom apartment on nine, a property with a bathroom in the Hamptons on Long Island that is up for sale. The original asking price in September 2022 was $29 million (£23 million), but the asking price has since dropped to $19 million.
