Belgee will expand its line: a couple more “new products” based on Geely will appear this year

The Belarusian plant will begin producing two more models of the Chinese brand under license. The names that the new products will receive are already known — X70 and S50.

The first model under the Belarusian brand Belgee was released last year, it was the X50 crossover, which is a badge-engineered pre-reform Geely Coolray. Let us remind you that the production of this “Chinese” is established at the BelG company plant, which is located in Belarus. Belgee X50 entered the Russian market at the beginning of last fall. In the future, this brand intends to expand its model range.

It is expected that new Belgee models will appear this year: as Belta.by reports, in 2024 the company intends to obtain licenses from Geely to produce two more cars under different nameplates. It is known that they will be called X70 and S50.

Let us remind you that the first-born of the Belarusian brand received the same name as the slightly redesigned Coolray, which is produced in Malaysia under the name Proton X50 (shares in this brand are owned by the Chinese holding Geely). So we can assume that BelGee will soon begin producing the Atlas Pro crossover under the name X70. And behind the name S50, the Emgrand sedan is probably “hiding”, although the similar Proton with a modified radiator grille has a different index — S70. Production of both models under the Chinese brand has now been established at the Belarusian plant.

These Geely models are also presented on the Russian market. At the same time, at the end of last year, Atlas Pro was included in the list of the most popular models in the Russian Federation. According to AEB statistics, the model sold 17,658 copies last year, which placed it tenth in the TOP 25 best-selling cars in the country.

Today, the recommended retail price of the Geely Atlas Pro crossover in Russia starts at 2,763,990 rubles, and for the Emgrand sedan they ask for at least 2,009,990 rubles. New Belgee products will most likely appear in the Russian Federation. What their price tags will be will become known later. For comparison, on the Russian market the initial cost of the Belgee X50 is 2,290,990 rubles, which is 54 thousand cheaper than the pre-reform Geely Coolray. Under the hood of the Belgee X50 is the same » filling» as in the source. We are talking about a petrol 1.5-liter turbo engine with a power of 150 hp, which is paired with a seven-speed automatic transmission with two “wet” clutches. Such a crossover can only have front-wheel drive.

Meanwhile, the updated Geely Coolray crossover (2022 model) entered the Russian market back in October. This SUV is equipped with a 1.5-liter turbo-four. The power of this engine in Russian specification is 147 hp, and the maximum torque is 270 Nm. It works in conjunction with the same preselective robot. The drive is still only front-wheel drive. According to the official price list, its price tag starts at 2,609,990 rubles.
