The current generation of the popular Japanese crossover has been in production for about five years, which means that the time has come for restyling. We decided to imagine what an updated car might look like.
The RAV4 model dates back to 1994, when the first generation crossover was introduced, positioned as a youth car for active recreation. This is also indicated by the name of the car, which stands for Recreation Active Vehicle, and the number 4 indicates all-wheel drive. Today, the fifth generation of the SUV is already on the assembly line, which premiered in March 2018. What will the restyling be like?

There is no reliable information about the updated model yet, but we can focus on the design of the company’s latest new products. Most likely, the RAV4 will receive a new front end: we depicted a variant with a large radiator grille built into the bumper. The headlights have become narrower and received modified graphics for LED running lights. The sides are unlikely to receive any significant changes, but at the rear you can count on new lights (our rendering shows an option with an LED strip across the entire width of the stern, in accordance with current fashion). There are also minor changes to the rear bumper trim, although the boot lid and fenders remain the same.

The fifth generation RAV4 is built on the TNGA (Toyota New Global Architecture) modular platform, different versions of which use all the new products of the Japanese company. In different markets, the crossover relies on different engines, among them: naturally aspirated petrol engines with a volume of 2.0 and 2.5 liters, as well as hybrid modifications based on the latter. The transmission used is an 8-speed automatic transmission or a CVT.
