MOSCOW, January 18 Theater critic, playwright, creator and editor-in-chief of the theater magazine Valery Semenovsky died at the age of 72, the Russian Institute of Theater Arts (GITIS) reported on Telegram.
«»Valery Oskarovich Semenovsky has passed away. A wonderful, brilliant theater critic and playwright, creator and editor-in-chief of the theater magazine «Moscow Observer», which in the 90s brought together almost all the masters of Russian theater criticism and theater studies and at the same time gave a platform to young , who published their first articles here,” the institute said in a statement.
GITIS added that Semenovsky was the teacher of many theater critics.
Valery Semenovsky was born on July 5, 1952. Honored Artist of the Russian Federation. Laureate of the Alexander Kugel Prize. Winner of the Theatrical Novel Award.
