MOSCOW, January 23. Blogger Lerchek (real name Valeria Chekalina) explained in Instagram stories* why she and her husband Artem had not paid taxes before.

"What can I say – they were stupid, they listened to the wrong people.” ;,” Chekalina answered one of the subscribers and attached a photo of her in tears to the text.
Chekalina explained that she and her husband admitted and repented of all their mistakes, and urged subscribers to be careful with their tax payments.
Spring 2023 two criminal cases were opened against Chekalina and her husband Artem. The first is about tax evasion of 311 million rubles. The second case is about money laundering on a particularly large scale.
The investigation lasted nine months. Chekalina and her husband were under house arrest, they were prohibited from using the Internet.
In total, the family of bloggers paid off a tax debt of 504 million rubles.
Lerchek became famous thanks to fitness marathons, she has about ten million followers on Instagram*.
