The production of the model of the Chinese brand has been established at the Avtotor plant in the Kaliningrad region. The recommended retail price of the new product starts at 2,997,900 rubles, live sales will begin in February.
The Kaiyi brand is partially owned by the Chinese company Chery; it appeared on the Russian market in 2023. The brand's current local lineup includes the Kaiyi E5 sedan, X3 and X3 Pro SUVs, and now they are joined by the flagship Kaiyi X7 Kunlun crossover. The production of all the listed models, including the new product, which was announced last fall, was launched at the facilities of the Kaliningrad Avtotor plant.

The model debuted on the domestic market in 2022, and sales started last spring. Kaiyi X7 Kunlun has its own body and interior, but its “filling” is from Chery. The model is based on the i-FA platform; in Russia, the crossover is offered with two petrol turbo-fours of 1.6 and 2.0 liters, the output of which in local specifications is 186 and 238 hp. respectively (in China the power is 197 and 254 hp). Both engines are paired with a seven-speed robot with two clutches.
Next month, live sales of the Kaiyi X7 Kunlun with a base 186-horsepower engine will begin. Its recommended retail price in the starting Comfort version is 2,997,900 rubles. This crossover received LED head optics, a panoramic roof with electric drive, as well as a trunk with electric drive and a contactless opening function. The interior features a 14.6-inch diagonal touchscreen infotainment system, leather seat trim, and a 360-degree camera system. A “winter package” is also available, which includes heating of the front seats and rear sofa, steering wheel, windshield washer nozzles and side mirrors.
Also in February, customers will be offered the top-end version of the Kaiyi X7 Kunlun Luxury with a 2.0-liter engine. Its cost is 3,475,000 rubles. This flagship is additionally equipped with an automatic high beam system, adaptive cruise control, a 12.3-inch diagonal virtual instrument cluster, an eight-speaker sound system, as well as wireless charging and front seat ventilation functions. This crossover has 20-inch wheels, while the starting version is offered with 18-inch wheels.

The list of exterior features includes a large radiator grille, forming a horizontally elongated “X”, the corners of which are emphasized by running lights, “echoing” lights, retractable external door handles and dual exhaust pipes. The length of the Russian version of Kaiyi X7 Kunlun is 4710 mm, width – 1964 mm, height – 1705 mm, and the distance between the axles – 2800 mm. Let us remind you that in China the crossover has different dimensions: 4738 x 1968 x 1708 mm, wheelbase – 2820 mm.

The interior is designed for five passengers, the trunk volume is 546 liters. With the second row seats folded, the figure increases to 1566 liters. The ground clearance of the flagship SUV is 210 mm. The list of driver assistants (regardless of the version) includes: lane control system, cruise control, blind spot monitoring, automatic parking function, as well as an assistant for descent and ascent.
In the future The Kaiyi X7 Kunlun range in the Russian Federation will be replenished with a Luxury version with a “junior” 1.6-liter engine. Its release is scheduled for March of this year, the price of this option will be announced later.
