MOSCOW, January 25The first deputy leader of the SRZP faction, Dmitry Gusev, addressed Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin with a proposal to create “security domes” to protect against drone attacks over all important industrial enterprises and strategic infrastructure facilities in the Russian Federation, the document is available.
Last summer, Gusev proposed creating such a dome over Moscow. In the letter, he reports that at the moment the dome has been created, technical solutions have been developed and are being used to protect strategically important city objects from UAVs. According to him, such domes have also been created over “some cities and strategic sites in the border zone.”
«I am preparing amendments to the current legislation, as well as proposals to amend the regulatory legal documents of the Russian government, which will make the presence of a dome a mandatory norm security for protection against UAVs. I ask you to estimate the costs required to create a security dome over important industrial enterprises and strategic infrastructure facilities of the Russian Federation,» the letter follows.
According to Gusev, the costs of creating a protection system against UAVs are significantly less than the damage that could result from one terrorist attack.
