Tinkoff, together with the Central University and the Higher School of Economics, launched the PROD Industrial Programming Olympiad. This is the first Olympiad in Russia for schoolchildren, in which they not only solve theoretical programming problems, but work on real IT business cases. This format allows you to completely immerse yourself in the developer profession before entering a university and understand whether it will suit the student in the future.
Winners and prize-winners of the Olympiad receive 100- and 50-percent grants for admission to the Central University, covering 100% and 50% of the cost of training, discounts of up to 90% on the bachelor’s degree “Design and Development of Information Products” jointly with the Faculty of Computer Science of the National Research University Higher School of Economics, the opportunity to enter for an internship at Tinkoff through a simplified selection process, as well as additional points for the Unified State Exam upon admission to the Higher School of Economics.
All stages of the Olympiad, except the final one, are held online. Any student in grades 9–11 can participate in it, regardless of their place of residence. Participants do not need to have in-depth knowledge of development; basic programming skills are sufficient.
The Olympiad consists of three stages that will help participants get acquainted with the profession, find out what front-end, back-end and mobile developers do , and try to create your own projects. Also, during the Olympiad, schoolchildren will be able to learn how to work on a product in a development team and develop “soft” skills.
You can register to participate in the Olympiad until February 14, 2024 inclusive. Participation is free.
Stages of the Olympiad
The first qualifying stage is a test of knowledge of Computer Science. Anyone interested in programming can take part.
At the second stage, participants will have to choose one of three tracks — the type of development on the basis of which the student will go through the final stage. Only schoolchildren who won a prize at the previous stage can participate.
The final stage consists of two rounds: first, participants complete tasks based on the previously selected development track, and in the second round, they work on a real team research project together with industry experts. The second round will be held offline in the format of a visiting school in the Moscow region.
Schoolchildren will be able to prepare for each stage of the Olympiad: they will be introduced to general knowledge about industrial programming, and will also be told about the types of development previously chosen. The educational block will include master classes from experts from Tinkoff, Central University and the Higher School of Economics. Throughout the Olympiad, participants will be supported by organizers and mentors — students of the Central University and the Faculty of Computer Science of the National Research University Higher School of Economics, as well as Tinkoff developers.
