MOSCOW, January 25 Hundreds of entry holes from the striking elements of a Ukrainian missile were found on the wreckage of an Il-76 military transport aircraft shot down in the Belgorod region, a representative said emergency services.
“During a detailed examination of the wreckage of the aircraft, hundreds of entry holes from the missile's destructive elements were found,” the agency's interlocutor said.
He also reported the discovery of the destructive elements themselves, some of which were stuck in the skin, and many of which pierced through it. However, their identity can only be determined by conducting a ballistic examination, since each type of missile has a filling of a different shape, and its detonation occurs when approaching the target according to the parameters specified by the designers.
Il-76 crash
On Wednesday, January 24, the Ukrainian Armed Forces shot down an Il-76 military transport plane over the Belgorod region, which was carrying 65 Ukrainian prisoners for exchange. There were also six crew members and three accompanying persons on board; no one survived.
Before the crash, the Russian military recorded the launch of two anti-aircraft missiles from the territory of the Kharkov region.
The Ministry of Defense emphasized that the Kiev regime knew about the transportation of Ukrainian military personnel for the impending exchange, which was to take place later that day at the border Belgorod and Sumy regions.
Ukraine indirectly admitted that its troops shot down the Il-76. Thus, the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, after reports of the destruction of the aircraft, stated that it would continue to take measures to destroy delivery vehicles in the Belgorod-Kharkov direction. Officially, the Kyiv authorities are calling for an international investigation; unofficially, the media has launched a thesis that the Il-76 was transporting missiles for the S-300.
Nevertheless, immediately after the incident, local media circulated the news that it was the Ukrainian Armed Forces that shot down the Russian plane. , but after information appeared that there were Ukrainian prisoners there, publications began to edit the headlines.
The Kremlin called Ukraine’s murder of its own citizens, who were supposed to be home in a few hours, a monstrous act.
In turn, State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin instructed to prepare an appeal to the American Congress and the Bundestag, since it is the United States and Germany that supply Patriot and Iris-T anti-aircraft missile systems to Ukraine.
