Yesterday, Opel distributed the first teasers of its new crossover, which will receive the revived name Frontera. We decided to imagine what the car would look like.
The Frontera model was present in the German company’s range from 1989 to 2004; it was a European version of the Japanese Isuzu Amigo SUV (also offered under the names Mu and Rodeo Sport). 20 years later, this name will be given to a completely different car — a compact crossover, which will replace the Crossland model. Its premiere took place at the beginning of 2017, and in 2020 the SUV received a restyling with a significantly redesigned appearance. What will be the new product?

It is expected that the new product will be built on the CMP (Common Modular Platform) platform, like the C3 Aircross. The crossover will be offered with both internal combustion engines and all-electric options. In the first case, Frontera can receive a hybrid filling from the Corsa hatchback, which is based on a 1.2-liter turbocharged 3-cylinder engine with a total output of either 100 hp. (205 Nm), or 136 hp. (230 Nm). The electric version can be equipped with a single 156-horsepower electric motor located on the front axle, as well as a traction battery with a capacity of 51 kWh, like the electric Corsa.
