MOSCOW, January 25 Former coach of the National Basketball Association club (NBA) Philadelphia 76ers Doc Rivers will sign a contract with the Milwaukee Bucks for 3.5 years, insider Shams Charania reports on social media X.
According to him, Rivers will earn $40 million under the contract.
Milwaukee fired head coach Adrian Griffin on January 23. He has led the team since June last year.
Rivers, 62, previously coached the Los Angeles Clippers, the Orlando Magic and the Boston Celtics, with whom he won a championship in 2008. His last place of work was Philadelphia, which he led since October 2020. The coach left the club in May 2023 after losing in the seventh game of the quarterfinal playoff series with Boston. In 2000, Rivers was named the NBA's best coach.
Milwaukee is in second place in the Eastern Conference table, having won 31 regular season games out of 44.
