MOSCOW, January 25 Chinese Zheng Qingwen reached the final of the Open Australian Tennis Championships in Melbourne.
In the semi-final match, Zheng Qingwen (12th seed) beat Ukrainian Dayana Yastremska with a score of 6:4, 6:4. The meeting lasted 1 hour 42 minutes.

Zheng Qinwen made it to the final of a Grand Slam tournament for the first time in her career, previously her best result was reaching the 1/4 finals of the US Open.
According to the statistical service Opta, 21-year-old Zheng Qingwen became the youngest Asian woman to reach the final of a Grand Slam tournament after Japan's Naomi Osaka, who reached the final of the US Open in 2018 year at the age of 20 years. The Chinese also became the second finalist in the history of the Australian Open to beat six unseeded opponents on the way to the decisive match. Arancha Sanchez Vicario was the first to go through such a tournament path in 1995.
Zheng Qingwen will compete with Belarusian Aryna Sabalenka (2) for the title at the Australian Open.
