MOSCOW, January 26 The film “Bullfinch” by Boris Khlebnikov became the best feature film at the Golden Eagle Award in 2023, the correspondent reports.
The twenty-second Golden Eagle award ceremony takes place in the first pavilion of the Mosfilm film concern.
«First of all, I am touched and proud as a participant in this project by the attention of academicians,» said producer Sergei Selyanov at the ceremony.
He called Khlebnikov a great national artist, and the success of the film, in his opinion, lies in the fact that in the film the viewer sees himself, his people.
The film was based on the novel “Three Minutes of Silence” by Georgy Vladimov. «Bullfinch» was released on June 8. The script was written by Boris Khlebnikov and Natalia Meshchaninova.
Previously, “Bullfinch” became the opening film of the 45th Moscow International Film Festival (MIFF), as well as the opening film of the “Example of Intonation” film festival in St. Petersburg a few days ago.
In the “Best Film” category, “Challenge” by Klim Shipenko, “1993” by Alexander Veledinsky, “At the Command of the Pike” by Alexander Voitinsky, and “The Righteous” by Sergei Ursulyak also competed for victory.
Fyodor Kravchuk's film «Highway of Enthusiasts» won in the «Best Short Film» category.
The best animated film was the project “Cats of the Hermitage” directed by Vasily Rovensky.
In the nomination “Best Non-Fiction Film” the winner was “Melnikov” directed by Marina-Maria Melnik.
Domestic films released in cinemas in Russia from December 1, 2022 to November 15, 2023, television films and series, the first screening of which was completed during the same period, were considered for the 2023 Prize.
The Golden Eagle Award was established by the National Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences of Russia in 2002. The selection of nominations is carried out by an expert council. The prize is awarded based on the voting results of full members and corresponding members of the academy.
