First: The President lashed out at his successor in tirade after Sunday's incident in which the White House blamed “Iran-backed” militants operating in the Middle East.

“This brazen attack on the United States is yet another horrific and tragic consequence of Joe Biden's weakness and capitulation,” Trump said in a statement.

“Three years ago, Iran was weak, broken and completely in control. Thanks to my maximum pressure policy, the Iranian regime was barely able to scrape together two dollars to fund its terrorist proxies,” he added.

The Republican leader accused Mr Biden of giving Iran the “billions of dollars” it received. said Tehran was using it to “spread bloodshed and carnage throughout the Middle East.”

“This attack would never have happened if I were president, wouldn’t have even had a chance – just like The Iran-backed Hamas attack on Israel would never have happened, the war in Ukraine would never have happened, and we would now have world peace,” he said.

“Instead, we are at on the brink of World War III,” Mr. Trump added.

    “This is a terrible day.”

As president, Mr. Trump abandoned the Iran nuclear deal negotiated by the Obama administration and reimposed sanctions. on Tehran.

He accused the Iranian regime of negotiating in bad faith and failing to openly declare its nuclear weapons program.

“This terrible day is further proof that we need an immediate return to peace through strength so that there is no more chaos, destruction and loss of precious American lives,” Trump said.

“Our country cannot survive with Joe Biden as commander in chief.”

The Biden administration is trying to gradually defuse tensions with Iran, which have worsened during Trump's years in the White House.
