In Kuban, air ambulances were used to transport victims of road accidents

KRASNODAR, January 28 Air ambulance facilities are used to transport victims of a road accident on a highway in the Krasnodar Territory involving a regular bus and a truck, said the region’s Minister of Health Evgeny Filippov.
An accident involving a bus (Neoplan) connecting Moscow — Nalchik and a truck occurred on Sunday night in the Pavlovsky district at the 14th kilometer of the Caucasus highway. The regional Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations noted that as a result of the accident, five people died and eight were injured. According to the Investigative Committee, the number of victims has grown to nine, including two minors. As the State Traffic Inspectorate clarified, three victims are in serious condition, one of them is a minor.

“As a result of the accident, eight people were hospitalized in the Pavlovsk Central District Hospital, one patient received medical assistance on the spot… The medical aviation of KKB No. 1 (Regional Clinical Hospital No. 1 — ed.) and Children's Clinical Hospital (Children's Regional Clinical Hospital — ed.) were involved. He added that the air ambulance plans to transport another patient also to KKB No. 1.

According to investigators, on Sunday night, on a section of the Caucasus highway, the driver of a regular bus traveling on the Moscow-Nalchik route previously fell asleep at the wheel and drove into oncoming traffic, where he collided with a Hyundai truck.
A criminal case was initiated on the grounds of crimes provided for in Part 5 of Article 264 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (violation of traffic rules resulting in the death of two or more persons through negligence) and Part 3 of Article 238 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (provision of services that do not meet life safety requirements and consumer health).
The regional prosecutor's office added that there were 15 people and two drivers in the bus, and a driver and a passenger in the truck. According to the supervisory authority, the carrier did not have a license and insurance for passengers, the procedure for transporting goods in the passenger bus and operating the tachograph was violated.
