MOSCOW, January 29 Former world number one Maria Sharapova congratulated Italian Jannik Sinner with victory at the Australian Open, which was held in Melbourne.

Sinner is 22 years old and played in his first Grand Slam final and became the third Italian to become champion. He also became the first Italian to win the Australian Open. This title is the 11th for the Italian, he ranks fourth in the world ranking.
