    Megamarket summed up the results for 2023: the site’s turnover increased 5 times

    Multi-category marketplace Megamarket summed up the results for 2023: the site’s turnover increased 5 times compared to the results of the entire 2022, reaching over 312 billion rubles. The warehouse infrastructure expanded, 2 times more sellers joined the site than a year earlier, the assortment grew more than 2 times – from 30.9 million to 66.3 million products.

    Compared to 2022, GMV increased 5 times. The largest growth in turnover over the year was shown by the categories “Smartphones and Accessories” (+750%), “Furniture” (+641%) and “Shoes” (+594%). The number of orders for 2023 increased almost 3 times: among the leaders are high-frequency goods. The most active buyers were residents of Moscow and the Moscow region, St. Petersburg, Sverdlovsk region and Krasnodar region.

    Megamarket continued to develop the infrastructure for sellers and increased the number of warehouses. By the end of 2023, the marketplace delivers goods to more than 76 thousand pickup points and parcel terminals throughout the country. Also, more than 60% of orders of all courier items are delivered through the click-to-click option, implemented on the basis of the infrastructure of the online retailer “Samokat” in 116 cities of Russia.

    From year to year, Megamarket maintains a trend of multiple growth in the number of sellers. In addition, not only large federal players, but also sellers from the regions are actively connecting to the platform. The most popular scheme for connecting to the marketplace was “Delivery from Megamarket” (FBS). The number of unique monthly visitors to the marketplace increased 2.5 times over the year and reached 47 million people.

    Over the year, Megamarket has become even more convenient for both sellers and buyers of the site.

    • Launch of new tools for sellers.In May, the “Analytics” section was opened in sellers’ personal accounts. In it, marketplace partners can download reports and find out which product categories bring in more sales, which popular products are currently out of stock, what customers search for more often and save in their favorites. Also, for sellers, we launched a free option for placing infographics on the main photo in the product card.
    • Development of advertising opportunities. In the spring, sellers got an advertising account. Now sellers can independently place advertisements and promote products and brands, taking into account budget, timing and space within the marketplace.
    • Updated interface and new technical developments. In the fall, the marketplace improved navigation and added personalized content – selections of products and materials based on customer behavior. Users of the application now have the functions of searching by photo and online try-on of decorative cosmetics.
    • Expanding the coverage area for click-to-click delivery and launching click-to-try on. At the end of 2023, the click-to-delivery option was available available to residents of 116 Russian cities. The marketplace is implementing it together with the online retailer Samokat. For the convenience of users, the courier-partner bag has been expanded, and a new click-on fitting service has been launched for goods from the fashion category.
