The famous playwright and screenwriter Alexander Gelman with multiple leg fractures was taken to the emergency room after an accident in the center of Moscow on the evening of January 29.

As MK learned, an unpleasant incident occurred on Tverskoy Boulevard near house 19, when 90-year-old Alexander Gelman, heading home from the Pushkin Moscow Drama Theater, was crossing the road near a pedestrian crossing. A black BMW car drove out towards the pedestrian from around a bend. The car began to brake, but it was not possible to avoid a collision. The screenwriter hit the right side of the car, lost his balance and fell onto the roadway. According to eyewitnesses, Gelman experienced severe pain in the lower left leg. 

The driver of the BMW got out of the car and urgently called an ambulance. and traffic police officers. The doctors examined the patient and took him to the emergency room, where they took an x-ray. It turned out that the playwright had fractures on both legs: the toes of his right foot and the shin of his left foot were injured. Medical workers applied a plaster cast. That same evening, Alexander Gelman was brought home by a relative. The publicist will have to recover for several months. With a BMW driver The traffic police officers will look into it.

It turned out that Gelman went to the Pushkin Moscow Drama Theater not by chance. The screenwriter handed over his book “Einstein and Margarita” to a friend, on the basis of which a play will soon be staged.
