It is curious that the flagship Tiggo 9 will be presented in our market simultaneously with its brother from Jaecoo.
The day before, Chery celebrated its 18-year presence in Russia, simultaneously presenting the restyled Tiggo 4 Pro SUV, to which Kolesa.ru dedicated a separate article. At the same time, the company announced at least two more premieres for 2024: the modernized crossover Tiggo 7 Pro and the completely new flagship Tiggo 9 will be brought to us. There is no data yet on how the Russian “seven” will change. There are several options here: either it will have a design like the Tiggo 7 Pro Plug-in Hybrid, or the SUV will be updated in the style of the Plus version for China. So for now, let's focus on the upcoming flagship.

In fact, a large Chery crossover has long been promised to us, but under a different brand: the “nine”’s brother is the Jaecoo J8, its sales should start in the near future. At the same time, the Russian office of Chery’s parent company Kolesa.ru reported that the models are still different. However, details about Tiggo 9 for the Russian Federation have not yet been disclosed. It is possible that crossovers will be separated in terms of equipment and technology.

The length of the “nine”, intended for China, is 4820 mm, width – 1930 mm, height – 1699 or 1710 mm (depending on the version), wheelbase – 2820 mm. In the home market, Chery Tiggo 9 is available with a five- or seven-seater cabin.

The Chery brand crossover is now offered to the Chinese with a 2.0 petrol turbo-four engine that produces 261 hp. and 400 Nm. The engine is paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission or a classic eight-speed automatic transmission. Front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive; the model has an adaptive suspension. Jaecoo J8 was announced in Russia with a 249-horsepower 2.0 turbo engine (maximum torque — 385 Nm), 7DCT, adaptive suspension and standard all-wheel drive.

In China, the basic Chery Tiggo 9 has 19-inch wheels, matrix headlights, a panoramic sunroof, a display (combined screens for the instrument panel and multimedia system, each with a diagonal of 12.3 inches), climate control, all-round cameras, adaptive cruise control, auto braking and lane keeping systems. The top-end crossover is equipped with 20-inch wheels, a head-up display, heated and ventilated seats, a separate climate control unit for second-row passengers and an expanded set of electronic assistants.
Even the approximate prices for the Tiggo 9 , not available on Jaecoo J8 yet.
