“The Netherlands is allocating 250 million euros to the Czech initiative to quickly deliver large quantities of artillery shells to Ukraine,” Ollongren wrote.
She said that her country would also supply Kyiv with “fast and maneuverable motor boats.” As specified on the website of the Dutch Defense Ministry, we are talking about 14 rigid-hull inflatable motor boats, eight military river patrol boats and CB90 combat boats.
Previously, Prime Minister Mark Rutte announced his intention to allocate more than 100 million euros to the Czech initiative to purchase artillery shells for Ukraine.
As Czech President Petr Pavel stated at the Munich Security Conference, Prague has found opportunities abroad to obtain hundreds of thousands of artillery shells, which can be quickly delivered to Ukraine with the necessary financial support from partners.
At the end of January, the Dutch government announced that it would allocate 122 million euros to Ukraine for ammunition, military equipment and strengthening cybersecurity. A total of 2 billion euros have been reserved in the Dutch budget for assistance to Ukraine in 2024.
