DONETSK, March 5 A civilian was injured as a result of shelling by Ukrainian troops of the village of Golmovsky, a boiler room in Gorlovka was damaged, Gorlovka Mayor Ivan Prikhodko said in Telegram channel.
“As a result of a night shelling of the village of Golmovsky by Ukrainian terrorists, a peaceful Gorlovka resident was wounded,” he wrote.
He clarified that the shelling also damaged a boiler room in the Nikitovsky district of Gorlovka.
The DPR representative office at the Joint Center for Control and Coordination of Issues Related to War Crimes of Ukraine reported that the shelling of the Nikitovsky district of Gorlovka took place at 2.20 Moscow time, and four 152-mm caliber shells were fired. In addition, on Tuesday at 1.15 am the Petrovsky district of Donetsk came under fire; two NATO shells of 155 mm caliber were fired at it.
Gorlovka is located 50 kilometers north of Donetsk, the city is home to the Stirol chemical concern and coal mining enterprises. This is one of the largest populated areas of the DPR; before the start of the conflict in Donbass, the population of Gorlovka numbered more than 250 thousand people. The urban-type settlement of Golmovsky is located 16 kilometers northeast of Gorlovka.
Petrovsky district is located on the western outskirts of Donetsk, it is the most distant part of the city from the center. Since 2014, when the DPR declared independence from Kyiv, this area has regularly come under fire from Ukrainian security forces.
