The new gearbox is only for the older engine, but the base engine has become more powerful. Sales of the modernized crossover are promised to begin in the near future.
In China, the Exeed TXL SUV, the first-born of the premium sub-brand Chery, launched in 2019, and a year later it reached Russia. The five-door has already undergone several modernizations: the last one was carried out at home last year. So now, once again, a modified SUV has been announced for our market.
Externally, the crossover has changed little. The horizontal fins on the radiator grille have become thinner, plus they now feature shiny trims. And the top-end Flagship package now has 20-inch wheels of a new design and red brake calipers.

Inside the Exeed TXL there is a similar front panel, steering wheel, central tunnel, display in a rounded case and a climate control unit with three small washers (the pre-reform SUV has a separate touch panel). The power adjustment buttons for the front seats have been moved to the doors, and the seats themselves are also new. Instead of the usual gearbox selector, there is now a steering column lever. Finally, under the mentioned “rounds” a cooled wireless charger for a smartphone appeared.

The Russian Exeed TXL is also promised a head-up display (a first for the model), heated and ventilated seats (plus a massage function), a retractable footrest for the front passenger seat, an interior fragrance system and a full range of driving assistants.

The base petrol turbo-four 1.6 TGDI has become more powerful: 194 hp. versus 186 hp the pre-reform cross, although the maximum torque has not changed — 275 Nm. The engine is still combined with a seven-speed robotic gearbox with two wet clutches. The older 2.0 TGDI turbo engine still produces 197 hp. and 375 Nm, but this engine is now equipped with a classic eight-speed automatic transmission (was 7DCT). The Russian Exeed TXL has all-wheel drive.

The updated crossover will go on sale in the near future; there will be four trim levels to choose from: in addition to the top-end Flagship, these are also Business, Prestige and Premium. Prices have not yet been announced. The pre-restyling Exeed TXL is available today in only two versions — Flagship for 4,260,000 rubles and Sport Edition for 4,680,000 rubles (all prices do not include shares).
