MOSCOW, March 28 Roskomnadzor does not see the need to restrict the work of Telegram in Russia; its administration has removed more than 256 thousand prohibited materials since 2021, the regulator said.
«We confirm There is currently no need to limit the operation of Telegram in Russia,” the regulator said. The RKN press service clarified that “since 2021, in accordance with the requirements of Roskomnadzor, the Telegram administration has removed more than 256 thousand prohibited materials.”
In addition, the regulator calls on the owners of instant messengers and social networks to now pay “special attention to the safety of their users and take additional measures , providing users with the opportunity to limit themselves from receiving provocative messages.»
Earlier, the press secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov said that there are no plans to block Telegram in Russia, but the creator of the messenger Pavel Durov should pay more attention to the use of this resource by terrorists.
