Joining the Core Academy was a surprise for the scientist: “In 2017, I already became a member of the prestigious European Academy, which includes about 80 Nobel laureates. Then I was nominated by my colleague, former scientific director from Britain, David Price. Now a somewhat unexpected situation has occurred for me, since I did not know about the existence of Core Academy and suddenly received a letter from them stating that their academic council had received a nomination for me, reviewed it and voted for it.”
The Academy's members include respected scientists around the world. So, one of them was astrophysicist Alexey Starobinsky. The Academy strives to support international research in various fields of knowledge.

Artem Oganov is the chairman of the scientific committee of the national award “Challenge”.
The National Award for Future Technologies «Challenge» is timed to coincide with the Decade of Science and Technology announced in 2022 and is designed to recognize breakthrough ideas and inventions that are changing the landscape of modern science and the lives of every person. The founder of the prize is the Foundation for the Development of Scientific and Cultural Relations “Challenge” together with Gazprombank with the support of the Moscow government. The general partner of the award is the state corporation Rosatom.
On March 3, the acceptance of applications for the “Challenge” award began — starting this year, a new international nomination “Discovery” has been introduced, in which you can take part A scientist from any country in the world can, including Russian scientists who work abroad.
You can apply for the award until May 20.
The total prize fund of the Challenge Award is 50 million rubles. Prize winners will receive 10 million rubles. in each of the five nominations.
