MOSCOW, April 2 The fortune of the popular American singer Taylor Swift has exceeded a billion dollars, she was included in the annual ranking of the richest people in the world according to Forbes, the publication reports.
«The most famous newcomer (in the ranking — ed.) is, of course, Taylor Swift, whose record-breaking Eras tour across five continents became the first whose income exceeded a billion dollars,» Forbes writes. Swift's after-tax profits from the Eras tour were $190 million.
Thus, the singer’s net worth is $1.1 billion. As Forbes notes, it consists of income from the tour, music catalog and real estate portfolio.
The publication adds that Swift became the first musician to achieve billionaire status solely through her songs and performances.
First place among celebrities in the annual Forbes list was taken by the creator of the Star Wars saga, George Lucas. His wealth amounts to $5.5 billion. Second place went to film producer, director and screenwriter Steven Spielberg, his fortune is $4.8 billion. Third place went to basketball player Michael Jordan, whose fortune is at $3.2 billion.
