The official premiere of the new SUV of the Japanese brand, intended primarily for the American market, will take place next week, April 9.
Toyota began producing the 4Runner in 1984, and over the years the mid-size SUV has changed generations four times. The current fifth generation appeared back in 2009, this SUV underwent an update in 2013. And by 2022, the Japanese manufacturer was generous only with the anniversary version of the 40th Anniversary. Now the development of the next generation Toyota 4Runner is finally in its final stages.

Toyota announced the sixth generation 4Runner at the end of last month, and the first teaser was published at the same time. Now the manufacturer has announced the premiere date — April 9 — and published another photo, partially showing the appearance of the SUV. Note that both photographs show the food of the future new product.
So, in the first teaser you can see the silver lower part of the bumper with integrated reflectors and rear parking sensors. The model name is now located below, under the license plate area. The new 4Runner also has a different handle on the tailgate. And judging by the second teaser, there is an inscription with the brand name on it.

In addition, the images show that the sixth-generation SUV will have differently shaped taillights with large black plastic dividing lines. The new Toyota 4Runner also has traditional outside mirrors, roof rails, and a spoiler on the top of the tailgate. One of the main features of the model was left, we are talking about a lowering rear window with electric drive, the control button is located on the top panel.
It is assumed that the new generation SUV could have a number of common features with the Toyota Land Cruiser presented last year (in some markets the model is sold under the name Land Cruiser Prado). Apparently, from him the “sixth” Toyota 4Runner received a bright blue tint for the body color.

The new teaser also gives a glimpse into the interior, although you can only see part of the front panel with a virtual instrument panel under the visor, as well as a large “sticking out” tablet that acts as a touchscreen for the infotainment system.

According to preliminary data, the new body-on-frame SUV is based on the modular TNGA-F platform, which is also used by other Toyota models — the already mentioned Land Cruiser, Tacoma and Sequoia. It is expected that the dimensions of the next 4Runner will remain approximately the same; we recall that the current version has a length of 4823 mm, a width of 1925 mm, and a height of 1816 mm. Official information about the “filling” of the new product will appear later; according to rumors, the SUV can be equipped with a 2.4-liter four-cylinder turbo engine.
