In terms of design, the SUV intended for “old world” markets has generally changed in the same way as in other regions. In Europe, the model still has both “traditional” and hybrid versions.
In its native Korea, the restyled Hyundai Tucson crossover launched back in December last year. At the end of March 2024, the American version was presented at the New York Auto Show. Well, now the brand has almost completely revealed the “short” updated Tucson for Europe (such cars are produced by the Czech Hyundai plant), in addition, in some places dealers have already begun to accept orders. By the way, in the Old World, the current generation model with the NX4 index is in high demand: according to statistics from JATO Dynamics, at the end of 2023, the cross took 13th place in the list of best-selling cars with a result of 158,056 units (+6%). For comparison, the related Kia Sportage sold 150,931 units there (+11% and 16th place), the result of the Volkswagen Tiguan was 141,140 units (+22%, 20th place), the Ford Kuga was 123,268 units (-3 %, 26th place).

The European modernized Hyundai Tucson generally repeated the versions for other regions. New plates have appeared on the radiator grille, and the daytime running lights built into the grille now have a different shape. The model also received new bumpers, plus an updated wheel design and an expanded palette of body colors. As in other markets, in the Old World, Tucson has a “sporty” N Line version, its features include an original body kit and grille, painted wheel arches and round dual exhaust pipes.

After restyling, the length of the “old-world” SUV increased by 10- 20 mm to 4510-4520 mm (depending on version), wheelbase – the same 2680 mm. The length of the updated Tucson for Korea (aka global) is 4640 or 4650 mm, the distance between the axles is 2755 mm.
The interior of the crossover for Europe was also made according to the patterns of cars for other markets. Inside, a new front panel, steering wheel and climate control unit with washers were installed. Instead of separate screens for the instrument panel and multimedia system, there is a curved display (each display is 12.3 inches diagonal). The airflow deflectors were moved lower, while they were hidden in a single die. There is now an open shelf in front of the front passenger, and a “floating” console between the seats of the first row. The steering column lever is responsible for changing gears. And of course, the list of equipment includes many electronic assistants. The software is updated over the air.

As before, in Europe Hyundai Tucson has a wide range of engines. The SUV is available with a 1.6 T-GDI petrol turbo-four or a 1.6 CRDi turbodiesel (note that in some countries diesel has returned after several months of absence), and such cars can be “mild” 48-volt hybrids. There are two full-fledged hybrid versions — with the ability to charge from the mains (PHEV) and without it (HEV), in both cases the Tucson has an installation based on a 1.6 petrol turbo engine. Front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. By the way, for the first time in the Old World, the PHEV hybrid will be available not only with 4WD, but also in front-wheel drive.
European dealers will have updated crossovers before the end of spring. For example, in the UK prices have already been announced — from 32,000 to 45,875 pounds (about 3.7 million — 5.3 million rubles at the current exchange rate). The pre-reform Hyundai Tucson costs from 31,535 pounds (3.67 million rubles).
