    Residents of the Urals were advised to refrain from traveling by car in the Kurgan region

    < br />YEKATERINBURG, April 9 The Sverdlovsk traffic police department called on motorists to refrain from traveling on federal highways in the Kurgan region due to the flood, the department’s press service reports on the Telegram channel.
    “In connection with the introduction of an emergency situation in the Kurgan region, the Sverdlovsk state traffic inspectorate calls on motorists to refrain from traveling along federal highways in the Kurgan region and the region,” the department said in a statement.
    The governor of the Kurgan region has introduced a high alert regime in the region since April 5; the threat of flooding exists for more than 60 settlements. According to the forecast of the State Emergency Management Agency for the flood period, 62 settlements, 4,300 houses, 5,550 household plots, 600 summer cottages may be flooded in the region, and 18,718 people may fall into the emergency zone.
